IIUI COMMEMORATES WORLD DAY OF ARABIC LANGUAGE

International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) commemorated the World Day of the Arabic Language here at Faisal Masjid campus on Wednesday.

During a ceremony held to celebrate the occasion, President International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI), Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al- Draiweesh urged the Muslim societies to devise a strategy for promotion of Arabic language to have best comprehension of Islamic values and achievements.

Dr. Al-Draiweesh added that Arabic is a source of unity among the Muslims which introduces them to their legacy. He said that Arabic language was imperative to be taught to youth and vowed that IIUI would be found available in this regard to cooperate with all the institutions.

The ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Ambassador of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), Ambassador of Sudan, Cultural attaché of KSA, Representative diplomat from  United Arab Emirates (UAE) , Senator Talha Mehmood, University Vice President Dr. Aqdas Naveed Malik, Dean Arabic Dr. Muhammad Bashir , foreign and local faculty members and a large number of students.

Senator Talha hailed IIUI for its services in promotion of language of Arabic and said that Muslims have immense love for this language which is the language chosen by Almighty Allah. He assured maximum support in terms of legislation or inclusion of Arabic as compulsory subject at various level of study.

Students presented tablos, skits and Arabic Nasheed on the occasion. Meanwhile, a calligraphy exhibition was also held on the occasion where students showcased their talent and were hailed by the visitors.
