The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has appointed new Directors for its Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) and Directorate of Graduate Studies following the approval of the competent authority. According to separate office orders issued by the Directorate of Human Resource Management & Development, the Selection Committee recommended Dr. Rashid Farooq, Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, for appointment as Director ORIC. Dr. Rashid Farooq will lead ORIC’s efforts in research commercialization, grant facilitation, intellectual property management and the promotion of entrepreneurial culture among faculty and students. In a separate development, the Selection Committee recommended Dr. Rabia Gul Ali, Tenured Associate Professor, Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences, for appointment as Director Graduate Studies. Dr. Rabia Gul Ali will oversee academic affairs related to MS and PhD programmes, postgraduate admissions, thesis evaluation, foreign evaluation processes, and liaison with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and other regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with institutional and HEC standards. The appointments are aimed at strengthening research governance and postgraduate academic administration at IIUI in line with institutional and regulatory requirements.
