Col. Raheel called on International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) President, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, to discuss the critical role of academia in raising awareness against drug abuse.
During the meeting, Brigadier Raheel emphasized the influential role of teachers as role models in society, highlighting that academia has a pivotal role to play in combating narcotics. He appreciated the initiatives taken by IIUI to counter drug use, praising its ongoing efforts to foster a drug-free environment within its precincts, setting an example for other educational institutions.
Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed reaffirmed IIUI’s commitment to this cause, expressing the university’s willingness to continue contributing to drug prevention efforts. “We are dedicated to nurturing personalities enriched with Islamic values, ensuring our students become responsible contributors to society,” said Dr. Syed. He stressed on the importance of character-building as a cornerstone of education.
The meeting was attended by IIUI Vice President Dr. Abdul Rehman, Students’ Advisor Dr. Ghufran Ali, and Chief Security Officer. They discussed strategies for strengthening awareness campaigns and ensuring proactive measures against drug use.
As part of its collaboration with Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), International Islamic University Islamabad IIUI hosted a comprehensive drug awareness program at its new campus. The event, organized under the banner of the Drug Demand Reduction Campaign, featured a series of noteworthy activities aimed at educating students and staff about the dangers of substance abuse.
The program featured awareness stalls set up by the ANF, along with insightful lectures and speeches from key officials, including the Regional Commander of ANF North and representatives of the university. Engaging interactive sessions and a drug awareness walk further captivated the participants’ interest, making the event both informative and impactful.
