HEC EARNS TRUST OF SOCIETY AND GOVT. DR. MASOOM

Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, Rector International Islamic University, Islamabad has said, Higher Education Commission has earned the trust and heart of society and Government of Pakistan.The standard of higher education in Pakistan is getting rapid progress up-to the satisfaction level.IMG-20160527-WA0000 - Copy

He was addressing the Global Good Governance (3G) Awards Ceremony, organized by Cambridge Analytica Istanbul, Turkey. Dr. Masoom was representing Higher Education Commission Pakistan and received Global Good Governance (3G) Award on behalf of Chairman HEC.

The Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan, has won “3G – Global Good Governance – Excellence in Higher Education Award 2016”, the Award announced by Global Donors Forums (GDF) Turkey. In his address Dr. Masoom further said that due to trust and confidence which HEC has earned, government of Pakistan has increased the budget to double of higher education in Pakistan.

He said that the establishment of Higher Education Commission in 2002 changed the landscape of the universities across the country and today Pakistani universities are competing globally. Rector IIUI added that in last decade, number of universities has grown from 40 to 180 today in the country and number of students has gone high from 0.2 million to 1.4 million today.

Dr. Masoom said that the mission of HEC is to increase the access the quality of education and relevance; relevance of our higher education with the needs of the country and socio-economic uplift of the country. He assured the community of education that HEC Pakistan will continue to play its positive and progressive role in producing all round individuals who are competent in their field and equip with tolerance and free from radical ideas. Dr. Masoom also paid thanks to Cambridge Analytica and Global Donors Forums (GDF) Turkey for the award   and called it an honour for HEC Pakistan.

The academia in Pakistan has congratulated HEC on achieving this mile stone and expressed their hope that the progress of Higher Education Commission would be continue to bring the higher education of Pakistan at par with international standards.
