The Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) organized a “Green Campus Campaign” for the awareness and environmental protection among students and the faculty members.
Prof. Dr. Ayaz Afsar, Vice President Academics, Dr. Muhammad Mumtaz, Director Academics, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences and heads of the teaching department from faculty of Social Sciences participated in a tree plantation drive. On this occasion, Dr. Ayaz and Dr. Zafar Iqbal appreciated the department and further ensured to support such activities to make the campus green and to accomplish the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on Climate change,
As per details, Dr. Akhlaq Ahmad, HoD Sociology shared that approximately 500 plants of different variety have been donated to the Horticulture Section of the University, and Sociology Department will also donate 5000 more plants to start another plantation drive during monsoon season.
