IIUI’S PROF AHMED SHUJA CLINCHES INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH GRANT

Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, Executive Director of Centre for Advanced Electronics & Photovoltaic Engineering & Advisor to the Rector  & President on Engineering Programs at International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) has clinched international research grant for the university.

A research project entitled as Development of Stretchable Supercapacitors for Energy Storage Systems was bid against the Pakistan Science Foundation-National Science Foundation (PSF), China Joint Call earlier this year.

This international joint research grant program received a large number of projects from scientists from both the countries; which went through detailed scrutiny and review by relevant subject experts of PSF and its Chinese counterpart. Only 12 projects including the subject proposal got approved for funding after considering the technical merit and quality.

“Joint Research & Development Projects under this program are aimed to contribute towards development of Industry, Technology, Process, Techniques, Prototype, Commercialization and Innovation, leading to socio-economic uplift of both the countries” told Dr. Ahmed Shuja.

During the course of this project, the International Islamic University, Islamabad’s team comprising of Prof. Shuja, Dr. Imran Murtaza and RAs/PhD students will be partnered with their co-proponents from Peking University, China; to develop a tangible solution to an applied and interdisciplinary problem lying at the heart of energy storage systems.

The IIUI Rector and IIUI President have congratulated Prof. Prof. Shuja on this achievement.
