FIRST BATCH OF NATIONAL FREELANCE TRAINING AT IIUI

First batch of National Freelance Training at International Islamic University (IIU) has been launched.

An MoU was signed between IIUI and Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) for the establishment of National Freelance Training centers in IIU for Youth empowerment under Prime Minister Initiative.

The aim of this project is to empower unemployed youth by providing out of work graduates and students with necessary means to earn an honorable income online. This will be achieved through hands on training on international freelancing platforms such as Fiverr, Upwork etc.by partnering with public institutions and organizations that share the same vision.

In the center, freelancing training will be provided to youth to empower them for employment. It will be focused on producing skilled and digitally aware human resource. The agreement is aimed to promote technology and entrepreneurship across the country. Both the university and the board have agreed to jointly work for main streaming the digital skills.

According to details provided by IT department, The first batch of this program started in IIU on 1st of the July 2021 and it includes 350 students. The project is being managed by the Department of Computer Science & Software Engineering of IIU. In start, the training mode is online which will be covering following three domains:

  • Technical: CSS, PHP & SQL
  • Content Marketing & Advertising: Blogging & SEO
  • Creative Design: Graphic Designing

The department has assigned a separate coordinator for each domain to effectively manage the students in online and face to face mode of learning.
