FETEX’24 KICKS OFF AT IIUI’S DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL & COMPUTER ENGINEERING

The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering (DECE), Faculty of Engineering & Technology (FET) at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has launched its much-anticipated annual event, FETEX’24, at the university’s new campus.

Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, President of IIUI, inaugurated the event, referring to it as a “Science Mela” designed to foster technical skills and innovation among students in a competitive environment. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Shuja highlighted the significance of such initiatives in honing students’ critical thinking abilities and commended the organizers for their dedication.

Dr. Shuja praised the efforts of Dean FET, Dr. Saeed Badshah; Director ORIC, Dr. Muhammad Amir; Chairman DECE, Dr. Shahid Ikram; and the entire organizing team, including the In-Charge of FETEX-24, for successfully engaging students through a wide range of activities. He urged students to participate enthusiastically in the various competitions and exhibitions.

FETEX’24 features a diverse array of events, including technical challenges like Line Robotics, Speed Wiring, PCB Designing, MATLAB Guru, and Content Creation, alongside sports activities such as Mini Cricket, Futsal, Badminton, Tug of War, and Table Tennis. Other highlights include Qirat Competitions, E-Gaming, Arm Wrestling, and a Project Exhibition showcasing innovative student projects.

The opening ceremony was attended by senior faculty members and a large gathering of students, marking the beginning of a vibrant celebration of engineering and technology at IIUI.

The event, rooted in a tradition that began over a decade ago, continues to be a cornerstone of FET’s commitment to academic excellence and extracurricular enrichment.
