The Department of Psychology and Directorate of Students Affairs, Female Campus jointly organized an awareness campaign on Drug Awareness, Anti- Bullying, Anti- Abuse and allied awareness 4 days long activities at the campus. The main theme of the awareness campaign was to highlight certain social and psychological issues that are seldom discussed in a contemporary society.
A drama Competition was organized in the light of the theme drug awareness. In drama competition, domestic violence, bullying, drug abuse and various social issues pertaining to drug addiction were highlighted.
Vice President Female Campus Professor Dr. Samina Malik attended awareness campaign activities while, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Zafar Iqbal, Chairman Department of Politics and International Relations Prof. Dr Muhammad Khan, Dr. Nazia Iqbal, Chairperson, Department of Psychology, Dr. Sumayya Chughtai, Students Advisor, senior faculty members from various departments and a large number of students at female campus attended the drama competition.
During the awareness campaign activities, participants shared the importance of prevention and treatment in drug addiction which was also highlighted in posters making competition arranged by the students of university. The students also distributed awareness leaflets and ribbons during the awareness activities. Dr. Noreen Sehar, Chairperson of Department of Anthropology, Dr. Aaasia Tahir, CMO, Medical Unit and Ms. Attya Ibrar, Head Department of Islamic Art and Architecture were the judges of the poster making competition. Prizes were distributed among the winners of the poster making competition.
The organizers opined that very reason for highlighting these issues was to emphasize the way they impact our society and psychological well-being of individuals. It was also aimed to emphasize how less tolerance for diversity and unequal treatments impacts individuals. Faculty members during awareness campaign activities appreciated the student’s contribution.
An awareness walk which was jointly organized by the Department of Psychology and Directorate of Students Affairs. In addition, a seminar titled “Cyber Ethics and Effective Reporting’ was also organized by the Psychology Department. During the seminar participants’ highlighted significance of ethical values regarding cyber use. Mr. Tariq Parvaiz, Additional Director Operations, Cyber Crime Wing, FIA, Arbab Arhad Saeed, Assistant Director, Legal Expert, Cyber Crime Wing, FIa, Zooni Ashfaq, Assistant Director / Incharge Awarness Campaign Cyber Crime Wing, FIA, Najeeb ul Hassan, Cyber Crime Analyst from Cyber Crime Wing, FIA also participated in the seminar.
