Faculty Training on Object-Oriented Design Diagrams Held at IIUI

The Department of Software Engineering at International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) organized a faculty training session focusing on software engineering design diagrams developed during object-oriented system modeling. The session was delivered by Dr. Salma Imtiaz, Chairperson, Department of Software Engineering, who provided a comprehensive overview of key design diagrams and their practical application in academic projects. The training aimed to enhance faculty understanding of standardized modeling practices, particularly in the supervision and evaluation of final year projects (FYPs). Dr. Salma Imtiaz elaborated on the structure, purpose, and interrelation of commonly used diagrams, enabling participants to revisit core concepts and align them with current academic requirements. The seminar also facilitated discussion among faculty members on teaching methodologies, assessment criteria, and supervision strategies. Participants shared experiences and identified areas requiring uniformity in diagram standards to ensure consistency in student documentation and evaluation. The session concluded with a collective resolve to strengthen inter-departmental coordination and maintain clear academic benchmarks for FYP documentation. The initiative reflects IIUI’s continued focus on institutional development and academic excellence in line with its broader vision of improving quality in teaching, supervision, and research practices.
