The Directorate of Students’ Advisor (Female Campus) at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) organized a co-curricular exhibition featuring various student-led entrepreneurial initiatives and recreational setups.
The event was designed to provide students with opportunities for experiential learning and the expression of entrepreneurial and creative pursuits.
President IIUI, Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, visited the exhibition and observed the diverse range of stalls presented by the students. As many as 35 stalls were set up. During his interaction, he emphasized the significance of student engagement in activities beyond formal academics, noting that such participation contributes to the development of a well-rounded role in society. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed acknowledged the efforts of the participants and recognized the importance of creating such platforms to support student initiatives.
The IIUI President was accompanied by In-Charge (Female Campus), Dr. Amna Mahmood, Students’ Advisor, Dr. Rukhsana Tariq and other relevant officials.
The exhibition included food stalls and DIY art exhibits, reflecting students’ entrepreneurial inclinations and interest in informal learning processes. Additionally, recreational setups such as a pirate ship, carrousel and a Ferris wheel were part of the event, offering spaces for collective student interaction.
A distinct feature of the event was the presence of indigenous food stalls operated by Thai and Chinese students, aimed at introducing cultural culinary practices and expanding the university community’s exposure to global food traditions. These stalls contributed to intercultural exchange and demonstrated the integration of international student communities within the academic environment of IIUI.
The event concluded with appreciation for the organizers and participants for their efforts in promoting student-led initiatives within the university.
