The Green Youth Movement (GYM) Club of the Department of Environmental Science, Faculty of Sciences, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), organized an Emergency Preparedness Seminar in collaboration with Rescue 1122 Rawalpindi. The event was conducted separately at both the male and female campuses with the support of the respective Student Adviser Offices.
The purpose of the seminar was to equip students with essential knowledge and practical skills related to emergency response and disaster preparedness. Sessions were supervised by Mr. Muhammad Jamal ud Din Qureshi, in coordination with Dr. Syeda Maria Ali, Chairperson of the Department of Environmental Science, and Dr. Islam ud Din, In-charge of the Male Campus.
Students attended the sessions in large numbers, where they learned from live demonstrations and briefings conducted by the Rescue 1122 team. The delegation, led by Senior Emergency Officer Mr. Usman Ahmed, included trained professionals: Adeel Waqas (Fire Rescuer), Touqeer Shah (Lead Fire

Rescuer), Muhammad Murtaza (FDR), and Arshad Bin Ashraf (EMT).
The seminar covered key areas such as first aid, firefighting techniques, evacuation protocols, and the importance of quick, informed action during emergencies.
At the end of the program, Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Naseer, Focal Person of the GYM Club IIUI, extended thanks to the Rescue 1122 team for their engaging sessions. He also acknowledged the efforts of Mr. Jamal ud Din Qureshi and the continued support of the Student Adviser Offices in organizing the event.
