DSA FEMALE CAMPUS HOLDS SEMINAR ON KASHMIR SOLIDARITY DAY

The Directorate of Students Affairs, DSA of Female Campus of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) organized a seminar entitled “Kashmir Issue and Contemporary World” in Auditorium Fatima-tuz-Zahra Block, Female Campus.

The activity was organized under the supervision of Dr. SummayyaChughtai, Students Advisor (Female). The objective of the seminar was to pay homage to the martyrs to denounce the human rights violations and to express solidarity with the freedom struggle in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir. A large number of faculty members and students attended the seminar. Dr. Naila Rafique, Deputy Director Students Affairs hosted the event and briefed the participants of seminar about the aim and theme of the event enthusiastically and soulfully during the seminar.

Key speakers Dr. Noor Fatima, In-Charge, Politics and International Relations Department (Female) and Provost, Dr. Humaira Ashfaq from Urdu Department shed light on different perspectives of Kashmir issue. Dr. Humaira Ashfaq discussed the Kashmir issue in Urdu literature and quoted different grafts from literature which reflect the sufferings and sacrifices of people of Kashmir.

Dr. Noor Fatima briefed the seminar participants on the international perspective of conflict. Dr. Noor Fatima explained the technical aspects of this issue in a very simple and comprehensible way.

Dr. Faryal Ambreen, In-Charge Dawah Center for Women (DCW) who was the guest of honor in this seminar said that the entire Pakistani Nation stood by their Kashmiri brothers and sisters in support of their courageous struggle to attain their legitimate right to self-determination.

Dr. Sumayya Chughtai, Students Advisor (Female) also expressed her views regarding solidarity with Kashmiri people while, faculty members and lauded the role of students for arranging the seminar and thanked keynote speakers for their precious contribution. Dr. Sumayya motivated students to play their active role to present this issue on international platforms using new media. A solidarity walk was also organized by the Directorate of Students Affairs at the end of the seminar in the Female Campus.
