e President of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has appointed Dr. Faiz-ur-Rahim, Associate Professor at the International Institute of Islamic Economics (IIIE), as the new In-Charge of the Office of Alumni and Convener of the Alumni Core Committee. His selection was based on his experience, background, and relevance to alumni affairs, following nominations from faculty members.
The newly formed Alumni Core Committee, constituted through mutual consensus, includes Dr. Mufti Muhammad Anas Rizwan, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Shariah and Law (FSL); Dr. Bilal Ahmad, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Usuluddin (FUD); Dr. Taimia Sabiha, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Usuluddin (FUD); and Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Naseer, Lecturer at the Faculty of Sciences (FoS).
The committee will oversee key initiatives such as alumni engagement, database management, networking events, trustee contributions and endowment fund development, communication strategies, recognition programs, and sustainable planning for alumni activities.
Dr. Faiz-ur-Rahim will lead the Alumni Office with a vision to strengthen IIUI’s engagement with its graduates and enhance its global outreach. He has also been granted the authority to co-opt additional faculty members, officers, or staff as needed. His appointment, approved by the President of IIUI, foregrounds the university’s commitment to reinforcing its alumni network and ensuring sustained collaboration with graduates worldwide.
Acknowledging the services of the outgoing In-Charge of the Alumni Office, Dr. Sonia Irum, Lecturer in English at the Faculty of Languages and Literature (FLL), the university leadership has conveyed confidence in the new team’s ability to build on her efforts, ensuring a seamless continuity of initiatives that deepen alumni engagement and reinforce the university’s enduring connection with its graduates.
The strategic realignment of the Alumni Office aims to enhance alumni engagement through structured outreach, clear performance benchmarks, and collaboration with key university departments. Strengthening IIUI’s global alumni presence will build professional networking, knowledge exchange, and expanded academic and research linkages.
