On the directions of Worthy President, International Islamic University (IIU), Director of the President’s Office, Dr. Ali Metab Alahmari, visited the central library where he received by the Chief Librarian Dr. Zulqarnain Akhtar along with his staff.
Dr. Ali visited various sections of the library including the Circulation Desk, Reference Collection, Reserve Collection, IIU Publications, Gosha-e-Iqbal, Sirah Section, Jinnah Corner & Pakistan Movement Corner. He was also apprised of the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) terminals, Video Conferencing Room, Research Cabins, and United Nations Information Resource Center (UNIRC).
The team also visited the new block of the library that will be an addition as a spate building for the male students and scholars.
Dr. Ali conveyed that the IIUI President is keen about well-equipped and rich libraries for both and male and female students and he has desired that the newly constructed block be made operational at earliest. The chief librarian also briefed him about the demand of the books according to the requirements of faculties and procedure of the purchase committee and status of the availability of the books.
