Islam is a religion of peace and harmony and Muslims must be united under the umbrella of Islamic teachings.
This was said by President, International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI), Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh.
He was addressing to the representatives of the preaching organizations from eighteen countries of three continents of the World, during a ceremony for 27th International Human Resource Development Program organized by Dawah Academy, IIUI at Faisal Masjid Campus.
IIUI President said that it is the prime responsibility of each Muslim to spread true message of Islam with patience and wisdom, while Allah Subhanho Wa Taalah provides best guidance to those who devote themselves for this sacred cause. Dr. Draiweesh stressed that Quran and Sunnah were the only means for the solution of all sectarian differences. He maintained that Islam was a religion which was introduced in the world to preach peace and humanity. He called for discouraging those who use to associate Islam with violence and terrorism.
President, IIUI, earlier, briefed the audience about the objectives and various programs of Dawah Academy in a short introduction about the, Academy while he highlighted that Dawah Academy at IIUI is the asset and ambassador for spreading the true message of Islam to the entire world. The ceremony was attended by representatives from Sri Lanka, Combodia, Mianmar, Kenya, South Africa, Uganda, Ghana and Cuba, while Director General, Dawah Academy, Dr. Sohail Hassan also attended the ceremony.
