The appointment of Professor Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed as the President of the International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) has been officially confirmed by the university’s Board of Trustees, effective from April 29, 2025, for a period of four years. The confirmation was granted during the 17th special meeting of the Board, chaired by the President of Pakistan, who also serves as the Chancellor of IIUI.
Dr. Alahmed is a distinguished Professor of Psychology and a seasoned psychological consultant, holding a PhD from Ulster University, United Kingdom (2015). With over 24 years of experience in education, mental health, leadership, and institutional management, he is known for his integrated approach to academic excellence and student development.
A respected religious scholar, Dr. Alahmed memorized the Holy Quran at the age of 15 and has also memorized several classical texts in theology and hadith. He has served as an Imam and preacher for over 30 years in Saudi Arabia, and internationally in Belfast (UK) and Ottawa (Canada).
His academic and administrative portfolio includes several key positions at Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University in Riyadh, such as Dean of Student Affairs and Head of the Humanities and Social Sciences Research Center. He has also contributed to policymaking at the national level through his involvement in various committees under the Saudi Ministry of Education and the Emirate of Riyadh Province.
Dr. Alahmed is a Certified Trainer at the National Center for Mental Health Promotion and a Certified Arbitrator by the Saudi Education and Training Evaluation Commission. He has received multiple awards for his work in education, youth leadership, and community engagement.
A published scholar with over 18 peer-reviewed works, Dr. Alahmed has participated in numerous international conferences. He is currently a member of the Supreme Committee for Strengthening Academic and Research Relations with Pakistani Universities, reflecting his ongoing commitment to academic cooperation and cross-cultural engagement.
