DISSEMINATION OF QURAN TEACHINGS VITAL FOR PEACE, SAYS FIRST LADY

First Lady, Mahmooda Mamnoon Hussain Tuesday urged for dissemination of teachings of Quran while terming this deed vital for peace and stability in the societies.

She was addressing a certificate distribution ceremony of Hifz e Quran and Tajweed course organized by centre of Quran teachings (Dar ul Munera) of International Islamic University (IIU) at Faisal Masjid campus.

First Lady said that ignorance and cruelty can be defeated by acting upon the teachings of Islam. She furthered that misconception had been created against Islam and it had been wrongly associated to terrorism and extremism which she said must be discouraged and world be provided true message of Islam and its teachings of peace.

She hailed IIUI for holding the program where female students had opportunities for hifz e Quran, tafseer and tajweed. She said that IIUI was rightly providing education to the youths which was according to the contemporary circumstances and Islamic teachings.

Mrs. Mehmooda Mamnoon Hussain expressed happiness that the course was also being joined by foreigner students studying at the female campus of the university. She thanked Mr. Mehmood Al-deeb for his endowment of centre for Quran teachings (Dar ul Muneera), Mr. Al-Deeb is the member of Board of Trustees and he has endowed this centre to the female campus of the university.

First Lady also distributed souvenirs among the students who took positions in Hifz ul Quran, Translation of Quran, Seerat un Nabi (PBUH) and Tajweed categories of the course.

Earlier, the ceremony was also addressed by Rector, IIUI, Dr. Masoom Yasinzai who said that IIUI was keen to produce human resource who would be example of harmony and would become sources of brining moderation in the society.

He furthered that university produces engineers, researchers, experts, and scientists who can bring positive change in the society with a blend of Islamic teachings. The IIUI Rector maintained that university, through its students and activities was keen to disseminate Islam’s message of peaceful co-existence and global peace.

Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh, in his speech on the occasion said that teaching and education of Holy book was a precious deed and university has a hallmark that since its inception IIUI has been working for education and teaching of Quran.

He furthered that department of tafseer and Quran teachings was dedicated to disseminate teachings of Hoy book and told that it always remained a well versed centre for education of Quran. He felicitated the students on completion of course and thanked IIUI Vice Chancellor, Mr. Mamnoon Hussain for his special interest in the matters and development of university.
