DIRECTORATE OF STUDENTS’ AFFAIRS ORGANIZES SEMINAR ON SENSITIVITY AND INCLUSIVITY OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

The Directorate of Student Affairs (Male) organized a seminar titled “Sensitivity and Inclusivity of Persons with Disabilities in a Rights-Based Development Process” in collaboration with Saaya Foundation on World Disability Day, December 3, 2024.

On the occasion, Dr. H. Ghufran, Director Students Affairs, welcomed the Chief Guest, Dr. Amna Mahmood, Vice President Female Campus (IIUI), the Chief of Saaya Foundation, special guests, students, faculty, and medical center staff of IIUI. In his address, Dr. Ghufran appreciated the contributions of persons with disabilities, highlighting Mr. Ali Nawaz Soomro, an active and dedicated student of IIUI, and emphasized the importance of integrating special persons into mainstream society.

The Chief of Saaya Foundation shared his thoughts on the courage and accomplishments of persons with disabilities in Pakistan and globally. He stressed the need for a positive shift in societal perceptions to foster inclusion and empowerment.

Dr. Amna Mahmood, In-Charge Female Campus, delivered a note of thanks on behalf of President IIUI, Dr. Ahmad Shuja Syed, appreciating the Directorate of Student Affairs (Male), Saaya Foundation, and participants. She emphasized the significance of positively engaging with persons with disabilities and recognizing their vital role in society.

The event concluded with a group photo and refreshments for the special guests, marking a successful effort towards promoting awareness and inclusivity for persons with disabilities.
