Knowing the needs of students who are at the core of services being rendered/offered by the Directorate of Student Affairs (DSA) is the most important facet that we are striving on behalf of International Islamic University Islamabad. It is not possible to know the real perspective and situations that the students in large are going through unless they are directly approached. Working in isolation while portraying ourselves as a frontline can only create a bubble rather substantiates the needs of the students. Therefore, to fill the gap the Director (Student Affairs) conducts “An Hour with DSA” to formalize the relationship between students and the university administration. This is a fortnightly seminar in which the key administrative officials such as VP (Academics), VP (A&F), Chief Medical Officer, Incharge Transport, Director Exams, Director Academics, Director UAFA, Incharge Services Department, Chief Librarian, Incharge Business Incubation Center, Chief Security Officer, and Provost Hostels are invited to talk to students and help them understand the efforts and services being offered to them. Students are in advance communicated to attend the seminar through website of the Directorate and allowed to share their concerns directly with the competent offices. This effort is done to minimize the gap between students and the administration and to establish professional norms of governance in an institution that is known to produce future leaders with brilliance, scholarship, purpose, merit, discipline, integrity and character.
