DG FEDERAL GOVERNMENT EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS CALLS ON IIU PRESIDENT

Director General, Federal Government Educational Institutions (FGEI), Major Gen. Muhammad Asghar Wednesday called on President, International Islamic University (IIU) Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi at his office.

During the meeting, issues of mutual interests were discussed. Both the dignitaries discussed bilateral cooperation and agreed to take collaborative steps for provision of internships opportunities to the students.

During the meeting, landscape of the education sector in the view of prevailing pandemic came under discussion, while matters related to promotion of distance education and blended learning were also discussed. The meeting was also attended by Vice President (Administration, Finance and Planning, IIU) Professor Dr. N.B. Jumani.

During the meeting, IIU President briefed DG FGEI on profile of IIU and its response to the challenging situation of pandemic through alternative modes of education. He also apprised that university is all set to introduce online education based degree programs by next semester.

DG FGEI hailed the contributions of IIU to the society and appreciated the steps being taken by the University for ODL based education. He appreciated the initiatives of IIU President for promotion of quality education. He also invited the IIU Vice President to visit the FGEI Directorate for the orientation session on distance education.
