DEPARTMENT OF SOCIOLOGY HOLDS SEMINAR ON SELF-IMPROVEMENT OF THE STUDENTS

The Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences International Islamic University Islamabad arranged a Seminar on “Self-Improvement of the Students”. Mr. Atif Mirza, a renowned motivational speaker and bestselling author was the guest speaker, while Dr. Muhammad Munir, Vice President (HS& R) IIUI presided over the seminar. The seminar was attended by faculty members and large number of students of different departments including sociology, psychology, mass media, political science, management and Sharia & law.

In his comprehensive talk, Mr. Atif Mirza talked on the significance of self-motivation in routine life. He emphasized the role of actions in developing positive behavior among the students and its relationship with success. Mr Atif motivated the students to identify their positive emotions and urged them to make those emotions part of their routine life. Furthermore, he elaborated the techniques of mind management and the way that students could use those techniques in making a successful career. While encouraging the students, Mr. Atif Mirza said IIU is one of highly recognized institutes of the county and advised students that they should do their best efforts.

At the end, Dr. Hazir Ullah acknowledged the efforts of Sociological Forum IIUI and appreciated its active participation. Dr. Hazir thanked all the participants and stressed the students to focus on their studies and affirmed the commitment that the department is dedicated to actively raising students learning through classroom interactions in teaching, seminars, workshop and extra-curricular activities. A souvenir was also presented to the Mr. Atif Mirza.
