DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION IIUI HOLDS SEMINAR ON EDUCATION FOR NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Department of Education, Faculty of Social Sciences of IIUI organized two day international seminar on Education for National Development a Faisal Masjid campus.

This seminar addressed the challenges of youth and analyzed the ways in which educational institutions, policy makers; various organizations can support young minds in reaching full potential and enabling them as productive citizen.

Participants stressed the need to broaden the exposure of teaching methodology and suf=ggested to not confine classes into a closed classroom environment. The agreed to promote critical insight among the students and called for relevancy of the field of subject and syllabus.

Dr. Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) was Chief Guest  who called upon the Muslim youth to be devoted to disseminate message of peace and tranquility given by Islam. He hailed IIUI and its servces while adding that it was one of the most important institutions of the Muslim world.

President IIUI, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Yousif Al-Draiweesh welcomed guests and said that such thought provoking seminars were very important for the students.

IIUI President said that recommendations of the seminar would be beneficial for the researchers,, scholars and the students. “Education is a vital investment for development and it is indeed guarantee of progress of a nation” he maintained.

Prof. Dr. Samina Malik, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences evoked to modify educational programs in order to commensurate with the requirements of country and also in enabling youth to productively fit into those professional and social positions.

Prof. Dr. N. B. Jumani, Professor of Education/ Director, Directorate of Distance Education enlightened the audience about the role of higher education institutions in developing societal integrity and cohesion. He also discussed various inputs and intervention to enhance quality of education for national progress.
