
Regional Dawah Centre (Sindh), Karachi, Dawah Academy, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) organized a three-day Islamic training workshop for lawyers in Karachi. The workshop brought together 28 lawyers and featured a range of sessions focusing on professional development, Islamic values, and the role of legal professionals in strengthening justice and social responsibility.
The opening session was led by Course Coordinator Dr. Shehzad Channa, who introduced the workshop structure and provided an overview of Dawah Academy, its academic and training initiatives, and its outreach activities. He highlighted the importance of equipping professionals with relevant knowledge and ethical guidance through structured learning programs.
In-charge Regional Dawah Centre (Sindh), Karachi, Dr. Syed Aziz-ur-Rehman, in his address, stated that Islam promotes justice and fairness in society and emphasized the responsibility of individuals to safeguard the rights and duties of people living in the community. He underscored that legal professionals hold a key position in supporting the principles of justice and ensuring the protection of rights.
Renowned trainer Mr. Nisar Musa Baloch delivered a session on “Leadership Skills,” where he stated that lawyers often possess stronger leadership qualities compared to many other professions. He added that such leadership can be utilized to contribute to positive social change and community development through constructive engagement.
The workshop featured a series of lectures and interactive sessions conducted by a panel of resource persons, including former Head of the Department of Islamic Studies at Bahria University Dr. Abdul Qadir, Dr. Tauheedullah Siddiqui from the Department of Law, University of Karachi, former Head of the Department of Mass Communication, University of Karachi Dr. Mehmood Ghaznavi, Ms. Sana Khan from the Department of Law, University of Karachi, Dr. Mufti Shehzad Sheikh, Bahria University faculty member Dr. Musa Lakhani, and Head of the Department of Islamic Studies, Bahria University Dr. Aurangzeb.
The concluding ceremony was attended by Mr. Sohail Jabbar Malik, Session Judge and Chairman Appellate Tribunal Local Councils Sindh, as the chief guest, while the event was presided over by Advocate Sohail Baig Noori of Justice Lawyers Front. Addressing the participants, the chief guest appreciated Dawah Academy for arranging a dedicated training program for lawyers and said that professional grooming of young lawyers is essential for strengthening the justice system. He shared that he has been familiar with International Islamic University Islamabad and had previously attended courses at Shariah Academy.
Advocate Sohail Baig Noori, in his remarks, emphasized that young lawyers should work for the promotion of justice and for safeguarding judicial independence. At the end of the ceremony, certificates were distributed among the participants. The participants appreciated the workshop and stressed the need for continuity of such capacity-building initiatives in the future.
