A ceremony marking the completion of the recitation of the Holy Qur’an during Tarawih prayers was held at the Faisal Masjid. The Tarawih prayers are being organized through a joint arrangement of the Dawah Academy and the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Pakistan, with participation of selected Qurra from different parts of the country.
Addressing the gathering, Director General Dawah Academy Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ilyas said that the strength, unity, and success of the Muslim Ummah lie in reciting, understanding, and implementing the teachings of the Holy Qur’an. He congratulated the Qurra who led the Tarawih prayers, including Dr. Qari Zia ur Rehman, Qari Nauman, Qari Ihsanullah, and Qari Abdul Hameed, as well as the large number of worshippers who attended the prayers.
He noted that it is a distinctive feature of Faisal Masjid that the complete recitation of the Holy Qur’an is accomplished twice during Tarawih prayers in the month of Ramadan. The first completion of the Qur’an has been achieved during the ongoing Tarawih prayers, while the second recitation will continue in the remaining nights of Ramadan, culminating later in the blessed month. He added that this arrangement is conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Dawah Academy of the International Islamic University Islamabad.
The ceremony concluded with special prayers for the peace, stability, and prosperity of Pakistan, unity of the Muslim Ummah, and well-being of Muslims around the world.
