ANTI-NARCOTIC AWARENESS LECTURE HELD AT FEMALE CAMPUS

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), in collaboration with the Directorate of Students’ Affairs at the Female Campus, organized an awareness lecture highlighting the dangers of drug abuse. The event aimed to educate students and faculty about the harmful effects of narcotics on physical, mental, and social well-being, while promoting healthy lifestyles and vigilance against drug-related activities.

Dr. Rabia Javed Bhatti, a Clinical Psychologist with the ANF, delivered an insightful lecture on addiction, describing it as a chronic disorder with profound effects on brain circuits related to reward, stress, and self-control. She emphasized that addiction is not merely a choice but a medical and psychological condition requiring professional intervention. The lecture also covered signs of drug abuse, prevention strategies, and the importance of destigmatizing addiction to encourage individuals to seek help.

The session underscored the legal ramifications of drug use and trafficking, as well as their broader societal impact. Participants were urged to take an active role in identifying and addressing drug-related issues in their surroundings.

Dr. Rukhsana Tariq, Students’ Advisor, closed the event with a call to action, stressing the growing challenge of drug abuse in academic institutions. She highlighted the collective responsibility of the academic community to maintain a drug-free environment and thanked the organizers for their efforts.

The event concluded with an awareness walk, where students, faculty, and ANF officials carried banners and placards advocating for a drug-free society. The walk demonstrated a shared commitment to combating the menace of drug abuse.

The lecture and walk were hailed as a success, raising awareness and inspiring the academic community to stand united against narcotics.
