International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) wishes to reassure its students, faculty, staff, residents, and visitors that the University is closely monitoring the situation following the sighting of a leopard in the vicinity of the H-10 New Campus and is fully attentive to the safety and well-being of its community.
Immediately upon the first sighting, the matter was formally reported to and taken up with the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB), the competent statutory authority for wildlife management in the Islamabad Capital Territory. While IIUI continues to extend all necessary facilitation and support, all operational wildlife response measures fall within the jurisdiction of IWMB.
Based on IWMB’s recommendations, the following temporary precautionary measures shall be strictly observed:
Unnecessary outdoor movement is to be avoided, particularly during late evening and early morning hours, until further notice.
Access to wooded, bushy, or sparsely populated areas of the campus must be strictly avoided.
Identified routes and pathways may be temporarily regulated or restricted, and all members of the campus community are required to comply with such arrangements.
Full cooperation is required to ensure that IWMB teams can conduct monitoring and response operations effectively and without obstruction.
Hostel administrations have been formally directed to ensure timely communication, strict adherence to these instructions, and their calm and responsible implementation within hostels.
These measures are preventive in nature, adopted as a precaution to safeguard the campus community while enabling IWMB to discharge its statutory responsibilities.
IIUI remains committed to student safety, clear communication, and continued coordination with the relevant authorities. Any further updates will be shared only through official University channels.
Issued with the approval of the Competent Authority.
