A seminar titled “Paigham-e-Pakistan Cultural Festival and Social Networking for Peace” was organized by the Paigham-e-Pakistan Centre for Peace, Reconciliation and Reconstruction Studies, Islamic Research Institute (IIUI), in collaboration with BUITEMS and the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme at BUITEMS, Quetta.
The event brought together students, scholars, and officials to discuss themes of unity, cultural diversity, and peace. Governor of Balochistan, Shaikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, attended as Chief Guest. He emphasized that Pakistan’s cultural, linguistic, and ethnic diversity forms the core identity of its people. He called for continued collaboration to counter extremism and promote an inclusive society.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zia ul Haq, Director General of the Islamic Research Institute, delivered the keynote address. He underlined the importance of tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and the role of youth in shaping a positive national discourse.
Students from BUITEMS actively participated through panel discussions, speeches, and debates on peace-building, interfaith understanding, and social cohesion. The Vice Chancellor of BUITEMS, Prof. Dr. Khalid Hafeez, concluded the seminar with a vote of thanks, reaffirming the university’s commitment to engaging youth in constructive dialogue.
The seminar contributed to the goals of the Paigham-e-Pakistan initiative by encouraging dialogue and understanding across different segments of society.
