The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology at the International Islamic University Islamabad has secured notable recognition at the American Society of Mechanical Engineers UET-Peshawar EFx Competitions-2026, marking the second consecutive year of success for the university at this international platform. Mr. Khayyam Ayub, a student of BS Mechanical Engineering and President of the ASME IIUI Student Section, represented the university at the EFx event hosted by University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar. Competing among participants from various institutions, he secured a technical position in the Oral Competition and achieved 3rd position in the Elevator Pitch Competition. His performance earned him a cash award of 175 US dollars. EFx events, organized by ASME chapters worldwide, provide opportunities for students and early-career engineers to engage in technical discourse, professional development activities, and competitive challenges. The platform encourages innovation, communication skills, and networking among engineering communities. The achievement reflects the growing academic and professional engagement of IIUI students in international forums. Faculty Supervisor of the ASME IIUI Student Section, Dr. Engr. Asad Asghar Janjua, was acknowledged for his guidance and mentorship in preparing students for such competitive platforms. The accomplishment aligns with the university’s broader commitment to academic excellence and professional development, envisioned under its ongoing efforts to strengthen research culture, industry linkages, and global engagement within the Faculty of Engineering and Technology.
