IIUI Hosts First Session of National Outreach Program on Professional Communication

The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), in collaboration with the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE), on Monday conducted the first training session of the National Outreach Program for Higher Education Management, focusing on Professional Communication and Office Procedures.

The session was facilitated by Dr. Hamid Rafiq Khattak, Chief Executive of MANTECH & ARC, Islamabad, and a senior member of national academic and curriculum development committees of the Higher Education Commission (HEC). Dr. Khattak highlighted the central role of consciousness, intention, and ethical clarity in effective communication, emphasizing that communication is not merely a technical process but one deeply rooted in mindset and purpose.

During the interactive session, the resource person discussed broader dimensions of communication, ranging from metaphysical and spiritual aspects to practical workplace applications. He underscored the importance of clarity of heart and intention in professional interactions, particularly in academic and administrative environments.

The session also covered essential components of formal and official communication, including best practices in professional correspondence, effective email writing, managing communication barriers, and conducting meetings efficiently. Participants were briefed on different types of communication, common errors in official discourse, and constructive approaches to presenting arguments with logic, restraint, and professionalism.

Participants actively engaged in discussions, sharing experiences from their respective institutions, which further enriched the learning process. The session set the tone for the week-long program aimed at strengthening leadership, administrative efficiency, and communication practices in public sector universities.

The National Outreach Program continues with subsequent sessions on strategic planning, financial governance, workplace efficiency through emerging technologies, and personal and professional development.
