The Second Meeting of the Special Monitoring and Supervisory Committee for the project “Optimization and Support Services for the Odoo-Based Campus Management System (CMS)” was held at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, Vice President (Research & Enterprise).
The Committee reviewed progress on the mapping of Student Life Cycle (SLC) processes and underscored the need for clear task prioritization with defined timelines. It was noted that legacy and redundant data were adversely affecting system performance, prompting directions for immediate solution-oriented actions alongside necessary troubleshooting.
The newly inducted CMS Optimization Project Team presented its initial assessment, identifying performance bottlenecks, database overload, and misaligned system processes. The Committee emphasized that optimization efforts should remain focused on tangible performance improvements rather than extended diagnostic exercises.
Key decisions included prioritizing result submission and processing, adopting software-based optimization in place of hardware upgrades, and discontinuing the storage of reports within the CMS database. Fee management issues, including duplicate challans and missing reports, were also reviewed, with directives issued for resolution through structural system enhancements.
The meeting concluded with a unanimous resolve to expedite the CMS optimization process, particularly SLC-related requirements, in line with IIUI’s commitment to strengthening digital governance and academic administration.
