Demonstrating continued care, responsibility, and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by university employees, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed, President, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), has approved the payment of 15% Disparity Reduction Allowance (DRA) for university employees across all tiers, despite the institution’s ongoing financial constraints.
The President emphasized that this decision reflects the University’s commitment to supporting its employees to the maximum extent possible within available resources. He acknowledged that financial pressures continue to affect households across all segments, and reaffirmed that the welfare and dignity of IIUI’s employees—academic, administrative, and support staff alike—remain a priority for the University’s leadership.
Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed further shared that remaining financial matters and pending areas will be taken up for detailed deliberation in the upcoming Finance & Planning (F&P) meeting, where all options will be examined prudently and transparently.
At the same time, the President called upon the entire IIUI community to work collectively toward strengthening the University’s financial sustainability. He encouraged faculty members, officers, and staff to actively contribute ideas and suggestions aimed at enhancing revenue generation, improving admissions, ensuring financial discipline, preventing leakages, and reinforcing institutional efficiency.
The President reiterated his belief that IIUI’s strength lies in unity, shared responsibility, and constructive collaboration. He expressed confidence that, through collective effort and mutual trust, the University will continue to navigate challenges while safeguarding the interests of its people and advancing its mission as a premier institution of learning.
