The 12th meeting of the Board of Advanced Studies and Research (BASR) was held at the International Islamic University Islamabad to review academic and research-related matters of various faculties. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zia Ul Haq, Director General, Islamic Research Institute and Dean, Faculty of Shariah and Law.
Prof. Dr. Abdul Raheman, Vice President (Academics), and Syed Hassan Aftab, Vice President (A&F), IIUI, also attended the meeting. The forum deliberated upon agenda items and working papers presented by the Faculties of Social Sciences, Arabic, Usuluddin (Islamic Studies), Languages and Literature, Sciences, Management Sciences, and Shariah and Law.
The Board discussed matters relating to academic programs, research proposals, and policy recommendations with a focus on maintaining academic standards and regulatory compliance. Emphasis was laid on strengthening research quality, improving coordination among faculties, and ensuring effective implementation of approved decisions.
The meeting concluded with a review of reporting items and acknowledgment of the efforts made by concerned faculties and departments in presenting their cases before the Board.
