Under Phase-IV of the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme, the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) organized a laptop awarding ceremony at the Council Hall on Monday, where 21 top-performing female students from various faculties received laptops in the first leg.
The university announced that a total of 3,521 laptops will be distributed among its students, selected through a highly competitive and merit-based process from more than 30,000 registered applicants.
IIUI has already awarded over 10,000 laptops in previous phases of the scheme.
The ceremony was presided over by Vice President Academics Prof. Dr. Abdul Raheman. It was attended by Vice President Research and Enterprise Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, Dean Faculty of Languages and Literature Prof. Dr. Fauzia Janjua, Dean Faculty of Sciences, Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed, HEC representative and regional coordinator Syed Qaim Ali Shah, HEC official Dr. Nazir Ali Mughal, HEC IT team head Zulfiqar Ali, and Dr Ahmed Nasser A Almogbel , Advisor to President IIUI on Academic and Adminstrative Affairs.
Success story documentaries of outstanding students were also showcased during the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Abdul Raheman congratulated the recipients and said the achievement reflects the dedication and excellence of students acknowledged at the national level. He thanked the Higher Education Commission for its collaboration, adding that the government’s initiative is helping bridge the digital divide. “The world is rapidly embracing digitisation; technology is redefining every field, and this program will enable Pakistani students to compete globally,” he said.
