RDC Holds Session on Advocacy in Islam

The Regional Da’wah Center (RDC, Sindh), Karachi, under the auspices of Da’wah Academy, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), organized a special session for teachers and students of religious seminaries. The session focused on “Advocacy in Islam,” in which Dr. Moosa Lakhani, Assistant Professor at Bahria University Karachi, delivered an in-depth talk.

In his opening remarks, Acting In-charge of the Regional Da’wah Center (Sindh), Dr. Shehzad Channa, said the theme of the session holds significant importance for scholars associated with religious institutions. He added that Da’wah Academy has a tradition of inviting experts to discuss key contemporary topics, and today’s event is part of that initiative.

Dr. Moosa Lakhani, while beginning his address, stated that the Islamic concept of advocacy is broad and multidimensional, and that true advocacy begins by entrusting oneself to Allah. He said Islam provides clear guidance on how to lead life, and the Holy Qur’an offers solutions to the social challenges faced by humanity. A truthful and sincere person may face difficulties, he noted, but success ultimately becomes his destiny. He emphasized that justice must be a fundamental trait of an advocate, as it is a source of moral excellence in society.

He also praised the academic, educational, training and research contributions of Da’wah Academy, describing its services as valuable for social reform.

In the concluding session, participants raised questions and appreciated the program. It was agreed that similar sessions will be held regularly to provide further guidance.
