The Directorate of Human Resource Management & Development of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has initiated a professional training program titled “Professional Conduct and Positive Student Engagement” under the directive of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed, President, IIUI.
The program aims to enhance employees’ professional conduct and attitude toward students, focusing on staff from the Directorates of Academic and Examination, Graduate Studies, and Academic Coordination Offices. It seeks to strengthen their competence in addressing students’ diverse academic and administrative needs.
Designed around Islamic values and contemporary principles of emotional intelligence and professionalism, the initiative encourages empathy, ethical behavior, and a student-centered approach to service. It also emphasizes understanding student psychology and fostering a supportive academic environment.
Comprising four structured modules, the training covers emotional awareness, teamwork, performance excellence, and institutional governance. It aims to equip employees with interpersonal and administrative skills to improve service delivery, teamwork, and accountability.
The opening session, held at the Central Library Seminar Room, was conducted by Dr. Attique Raza, Director, Positive Solutions, on the theme “Peak Performance and Student-Centric Interaction for Administrative Excellence.” Drawing on over 15 years of experience, Dr. Attique highlighted the importance of self-discipline, emotional regulation, and faith-based motivation for achieving balance between professional and personal responsibilities.
Participants actively engaged in discussions and shared reflections on aligning professional responsibilities with empathy, discipline, and integrity.
Upcoming sessions will be conducted by Dr. Nazia Iqbal (Understanding Student Psychology and Institutional Behavior), Mr. Salman Farooq (Happiness Through Caring and Giving), and Mr. Saqib Rashid (Governance, Professional Conduct, and Disciplinary Framework).
The program underscores IIUI’s continued commitment to fostering a value-driven, responsible, and student-focused institutional culture through continuous professional development of its employees.
