Karachi – The Regional Da‘wah Centre (Sindh), Karachi, a constituent unit of Da‘wah Academy, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), organized a one-day seminar titled “Asr-e-Hazir mein Da‘wat-e-Deen ke Taqazay” (Requirements of Da‘wah in Contemporary Times).
Addressing the seminar, Director General Shariah Academy, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akram, delivered the keynote lecture. He said that while efforts of Da‘wah are being carried out at institutional and individual levels, there is a pressing need to organize and systematize this work at the global level. He emphasized that modern means and resources must be utilized to promote Da‘wah effectively. He added that in today’s world, people give weight to practical demonstration of values, hence, a Da‘i must embody the message through action before inviting others.
Dr. Akram further highlighted the importance of acquiring contemporary knowledge and skills, noting that language and communication style hold vital significance in the field of Da‘wah.
In his remarks, In-charge of Regional Da‘wah Centre (Sindh), Dr. Syed Aziz-ur-Rehman, underscored the importance of character in Da‘wah. He said that Islam spread in this region largely through the exemplary conduct of traders. He reminded the participants that the Prophets’ greatest invitation was through their character.
Earlier, Dr. Shahzad Channa, Coordinator of the programme, briefed the participants about the objectives of holding the seminar and the significance of Da‘wah in the present age.
The seminar was attended by a large number of scholars and students of Islamic studies.
