Two-Day Legal Awareness Course for Madrasa Graduates Held in Regional Dawah Center Karachi

Karachi: A two-day legal awareness course for madrasa graduates was organized at Jamia Binoria Alamia, Karachi, under the joint auspices of Shariah Academy and the Regional Da’wah Centre (Sindh), Karachi. The program was held in collaboration with Da’wah Academy, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), with sixty madrasa graduates participating.

In the opening session, Dr. Shehzad Channa, Assistant Professor at the Regional Da’wah Centre, introduced Da’wah Academy and Shariah Academy. Dr. Syed Aziz-ur-Rehman, Incharge of the Regional Da’wah Centre, highlighted the objectives of the course and discussed Islamic sciences with a focus on the sources of Shariah. Dr. Hafiz Waqas from Shariah Academy delivered a lecture on Pakistan’s constitutional framework, while Dr. Abdul Qadir from the Sindh Education Department spoke on the Islamization of laws and informed participants about different phases of legal reforms in Pakistan.

Director General Shariah Academy, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akram, expressed gratitude to Jamia Binoria and the Regional Da’wah Centre for hosting the program. He also shed light on the academic, research, and training activities of the Shariah Academy, urging scholars to pursue knowledge of both Islamic sciences and law. He announced that such programs would be organized in other cities as well to broaden participation.

On the second day, sessions focused on family laws and other relevant legal topics in Pakistan. In the concluding session, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akram congratulated the participants and said the course aimed to enhance awareness about Pakistan’s laws, constitution, and Shariah-related discussions.
