President IIUI Visits Jamia Mosque and Student Facilitation Centre, Emphasizes Community Welfare and Student-Centric Vision

The President of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad alAhmed, visited the Jamia Mosque at the university’s new campus on Wednesday, where he reviewed the facilities and received briefings on key infrastructure matters.

Dr. alAhmed was received by Dr. Inam ul Haq, Director Administration and Works, and Mr. Aamir Ishtiaq, Director Planning and Development, along with relevant officers and staff. During the visit, Dr. Inam ul Haq briefed the President on the current state of the mosque and its infrastructural challenges.

Describing the presence of a fully functional mosque for the five daily prayers and Friday congregations as essential, the President stressed that ensuring proper mosque infrastructure must remain a top priority. He called for practical and immediate measures to be taken in this regard.

Following a detailed presentation on the university’s master plan by Mr. Aamir Ishtiaq, Dr. alAhmed directed that a comprehensive design for the mosque be developed, with a thorough assessment of its impact. He reiterated that improving university facilities and ensuring the welfare of the campus community remain among his foremost priorities.

Dr. Inam ul Haq appreciated the President’s proactive approach and acknowledged his commitment to providing practical solutions for infrastructural development.

Later, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad alAhmed visited the Student Facilitation Centre, where he was welcomed by Vice President (Academics, Administration & Finance), Prof. Dr. Abdul Raheman, and Director Academics, Syed Naveed Ehtisham.

During the visit, the President toured various service sections, including those dealing with overseas students’ affairs, examinations, fees, and other allied facilities. He interacted with university employees and listened to students’ feedback directly.

The President emphasized that student-centric governance is a core pillar of his leadership vision. Stressing the importance of modernization and efficiency, he directed that full digitization of records across departments should be ensured. In response, the Vice President informed him that the university has already implemented the E-Office system and that approximately 50 percent of the transition has been completed.

 

Dr. alAhmed also underlined the need to enhance on-campus facilities for students, including the introduction of more reputed food chains to serve both students and visiting parents. He instructed the concerned officials that student-related matters must be addressed without unnecessary delays. Addressing the staff, he encouraged them to consider him one of their own and not to hesitate in offering suggestions or reporting issues.
