Graduates of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) gathered for the first official meet-up of the newly formed IIUI Alumni UK Chapter. The event held in Birmingham, marked the beginning of organized alumni activities in the United Kingdom.
The meet-up was coordinated by M. Awais Cheema under the guidance of Dr. Humayon Dar, who oversaw the proceedings. Solicitor Tahir Abdullah and Rana Rab Nawaz played key supporting roles in organizing the gathering.
Alumni from multiple graduating classes attended, representing different academic disciplines and professional fields. Participants included graduates from the university’s earliest batches as well as recent 2024 graduates. Several female alumni, including Zahra and Shahana, contributed actively to discussions.
During the meeting, attendees agreed to establish an Alumni Help Desk to provide practical assistance to IIUI graduates relocating to or working in the UK. The help desk will offer career guidance, professional networking opportunities, and settlement advice.
The group plans to hold regular meetings, with the next gathering scheduled to take place in Manchester following Eid ul Adha. Exact dates will be confirmed after further consultation among members.
The formation of the UK chapter follows initiatives by Prof. Dr. Faiz ur Raheem, In-Charge of the IIUI Alumni Office, to activate alumni networks worldwide. The UK alumni expressed appreciation for his ongoing support in establishing their chapter.
The meet-up provided opportunities for graduates to reconnect and discuss ways to strengthen their professional network while maintaining ties to their alma mater.
In light of the overwhelming response following the successful UK Alumni Eid Dinner, we are pleased to announce that the registration date for the upcoming Pakistan Alumni gathering has been extended. This extension aims to accommodate the enthusiastic interest from our alumni community, ensuring broader participation in celebrating our shared legacy and fostering deeper connections.
