In collaboration with the Dawah Academy, International Islamic University Islamabad, and the Ministry of Religious Affairs, a dignified ceremony marking the completion of the recitation of the Holy Quran was held on the 27th night of Ramadan at Faisal Mosque, Islamabad.
On this occasion, the Director General of Dawah Academy, Professor Dr. Muhammad Ilyas, congratulated the Qaris, worshippers observing i’tikaf, and all attendees in his address. He stated that the 27th night of Ramadan is particularly memorable as it also marks the completion of the first phase of the graduation ceremony for 100 students who have completed the memorization of the Holy Quran under the Faisal Mosque Islamic Center’s Tahfiz-ul-Quran department.
He extended congratulations to the newly certified Huffaz, their teachers, and parents. He also paid tribute to former Directors General of Dawah Academy, Dr. Imtiaz Zafar, Dr. Sohail Hassan, and Dr. Tahir Mehmood, acknowledging their contributions that have led to this historic moment at Faisal Mosque.
Professor Dr. Muhammad Ilyas further stated that this year is filled with special blessings for Pakistan, as both Pakistan Day (March 23) and Independence Day (27th Ramadan) have fallen in the last ten days of Ramadan. He emphasized that Pakistan is a great blessing from the Almighty and a beacon of hope for Muslims worldwide.
Speaking at the ceremony, Federal Minister Dr. Fazal Chaudhry said that he attended this blessed gathering as a representative of the Prime Minister of Pakistan upon the special invitation of Dawah Academy’s Director General, Professor Dr. Muhammad Ilyas. He remarked that this Ramadan is truly a month of Pakistan’s elevation, and the 100 Huffaz symbolize a promising future for the country.
On this occasion, the Turkish Ambassador, Dr. Irfan Nazir Oğlu, presented a replica of a rare handwritten copy of the Holy Quran, originally inscribed in 1556 during the Ottoman Caliphate, as a gift from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to Faisal Mosque.
Dr. Atta-ur-Rehman, Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, stated in his address that the Government of Pakistan has decided to observe the 27th night of Ramadan as a day of gratitude, as it marks the divine gift of Pakistan.
The ceremony concluded with special prayers for Pakistan’s security, stability, and for the oppressed people of Kashmir and Gaza.
