DSA holds seminar on Game Development

A one-day workshop on “Game Craft – Game Development Screening” was organized by the Directorate of Student Affairs (Male) in collaboration with the Prime Minister Youth Development Center (PMYDP) and the Computer Science Society, IIUI.

The event aimed to provide students with insights into game development, particularly focusing on creating maps for WOW e-games.

The workshop began with a welcome address by Dr. H. Ghufran, Director of Student Affairs, who welcomed Dr. Shehbaz Shamsi, Director General of PMYDP, and Syed Waqar Hussain Shah, Project Director PMYDP HEC. Both guests addressed the audience, emphasizing the significance of game development and its potential for students in the digital industry.

The lead trainer, Mr. Soomray, conducted a comprehensive session, guiding students through the technical aspects of developing game maps.

He provided a detailed overview of the tools and techniques used in professional game development, highlighting industry trends and career opportunities in the field. Students actively participated in the session, engaging in discussions and asking questions about the game development process.

The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Imran Saeed, a senior faculty member of the Computer Science faculty. He acknowledged the efforts of the chief guests, the trainer, and the Directorate of Student Affairs (M) for organizing the event. He also appreciated the interactive nature of the workshop and its relevance for students interested in the gaming industry.

The event provided an opportunity for students to learn from experts and gain practical knowledge in game development.
