Faithful Throng Faisal Masjid for Taraweeh Prayers

A large number of worshippers have been gathering at Faisal Masjid in Islamabad for prayers and Taraweeh since the beginning of Ramadan.

On the first night, Professor Dr. Muhammad Ilyas, Director General of the Dawah Academy at the International Islamic University, led the prayers. During Taraweeh, one and a half sections of the Quran were recited.

The Dawah Academy aims to complete the first full recitation of the Quran by the 20th night of Ramadan. A second recitation, known as Qiyam-ul-Lail, will be held during the last ten nights, from the 21st to the 27th of Ramadan, in collaboration with the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Selected reciters from across Pakistan will participate in these recitations.

Special arrangements have also been made for I’tikaf during the final ten days of Ramadan to facilitate worshippers.
