The Directorate of Students’ Affairs, Female Campus, in collaboration with Aspire Institute, organized a seminar on the Aspire Leadership Program on February 19, 2025, at the Fatima Tul Zahra Block Auditorium, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI). The session introduced students to the program, which focuses on employability and leadership through global learning opportunities.
Aspire Institute, an independent non-profit founded at Harvard University, offers the Aspire Leaders Program, a fully funded online initiative for youth worldwide. Established in 2017 and evolving into a non-profit in 2021, Aspire supports low-income, first-generation college students. The program has impacted over 200,000 students in 195 countries, including Pakistan, where it partners with 56 universities and has an alumni network of 117,000 students.
Dr. Yasmeen, Deputy Students’ Advisor, welcomed the guests and students, stressing the importance of leadership development. She encouraged participation in global initiatives to expand perspectives and career prospects.
Ms. Silvia Shamoon explained the program’s 9-week curriculum, which includes leadership, public policy, social entrepreneurship, and critical thinking. It features master classes from professors at MIT, Harvard, and Caltech, along with networking, internships, and career guidance, including Fulbright application support.
Prof. Dr. Amina Mahmood, Vice President of the Female Campus, appreciated the efforts of the Directorate of Students’ Affairs and Aspire Institute in providing this opportunity. She encouraged students to take full advantage of such initiatives for professional growth.
The seminar provided insights into international career development. The Directorate of Students’ Affairs, Female Campus, acknowledged the participation of faculty and students and looks forward to further collaborations with Aspire Institute and similar organizations.
