The Ambassador of Switzerland to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mr. George Steiner, visited the Faisal Mosque in Islamabad along with his delegation. On this occasion, Director General of Dawah Academy, International Islamic University, Professor Dr. Muhammad Ilyas, and In-charge of Faisal Mosque Islamic Center, Dr. Qari Zia-ur-Rehman, warmly welcomed the distinguished guests. Qari Abdul Hameed and Qari Atta-ur-Rehman were also present on the occasion.
During the visit Professor Dr. Muhammad Ilyas briefed the ambassador on the religious, historical, and cultural significance of Faisal Mosque. He also provided an overview of the various educational, academic, research, and training programs offered by Dawah Academy and the International Islamic University.
Mr. George Steiner had a brief interaction with the students of the Hifz-ul-Quran department at Faisal Mosque, where he also listened to the recitation of the Holy Quran.
On the occasion, Swiss ambassador expressed his admiration for the architectural beauty, serene ambiance, and spiritual atmosphere of Faisal Mosque. He also highly praised the remarkable contributions of Faisal Mosque, Dawah Academy, and the International Islamic University in the fields of education and religious services.
