SEMINAR ON REGIONAL CONNECTIVITY AND CPEC HELD AT IIUI

The Department of History and Pakistan Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, FSS at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) organized a seminar at the Female Campus in collaboration with the Institute for Community with Shared Future, Communication University of China Beijing.

Col. Taimor Khalid, an expert in geo-strategic affairs and the Belt & Road Initiative, delivered a presentation on “The Concept of Community with Shared Future and Central-South Asia Connectivity through CPEC.” He discussed the significance of regional connectivity and its impact on Pakistan’s economy.

Addressing the seminar participants Prof. Dr. Amna Mahmood, In-Charge Female Campus, IIUI emphasized Pakistan’s need to strengthen regional ties through historical, economic, and political connections with Central Asia.

Dr. Quratul Ain, Chairperson Media and Communication, Dr. Rafia Riaz, Chairperson Department of History and Pakistan Studies, and Dr. Noreen Sahar, Associate Professor Anthropology, were among the attendees.

Students from the Department of History and Pakistan Studies, along with a large number of Thai students, attended the session. At the end of seminar, Col. Taimor Khalid presented his book to Prof. Dr. Amna Mahmood at the event.
