IIUI President Meets IRI Postdoctoral Fellows, Emphasizes Research Excellence

Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, President of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), visited the Islamic Research Institute (IRI), where he was warmly received by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq, Director General of IRI.

During his visit, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed met with the 4th cohort of IRI International Postdoctoral Fellows. The session was also attended by Prof. Dr. Mohyuddin Hashmi, Dean of the Faculty of Arabic and Islamic Studies at Allama Iqbal Open University.

Addressing the postdoctoral fellows, the IIUI President highlighted the importance of postdoctoral research and the unique aspects of IRI’s fellowship program.

He emphasized that IIUI has established strong mechanisms for monitoring and evaluating postdoctoral initiatives to ensure research quality and impact.

He encouraged the scholars to focus on credible and original research that aligns with Islamic thought and contributes to Pakistan’s social and economic development. He stressed that meaningful academic work can play a pivotal role in addressing contemporary challenges.

The meeting also included an interactive session, where postdoctoral fellows shared their experiences, discussed research challenges, and expressed their appreciation for the facilities and support provided by IIUI.
