IIUI HOSTS PM’S YOUTH TALENT HUNT SPORTS HANDBALL (WOMEN) FEDERAL LEAGUE AT SPORTS COMPLEX

The closing ceremony of the Prime Minister’s Youth Talent Hunt Sports Handball (Women) Federal League in Collaboration with HEC held on 1st March 2024 at Liaquat Gymnasium, Islamabad Sports Complex hosted by the Islamabad International Islamic University (IIUI) marked the culmination of a thrilling sporting spectacle. The event, which brought together teams from Islamabad, Skardu, Gilgit, Muzaffarabad, and Mirpur, showcased exceptional talent and sportsmanship.

Guests of honor, Ms. Afsheen Akhtar( Project Manager), Mr. Muhammad Awais Mirza (Assistant Manager) and Mr.Iftikhar Alam (Project Assistant) representing HEC were warmly welcomed by Dr. Sadia Saleem Cheema Female Student’s Advisor and Incharge Sports/Organizing Secretary Ms. Nadia Mukhtar. Their presence added prestige to the ceremony, underscoring the importance of promoting youth sports initiatives.

Organizing Secretary Ms. Nadia Mukhtar, in her welcome note, thanked Dr.Mukhtar Ahmed Chairman HEC, Mr. Javed Ali Memon, Incharge and Director Sports HEC and Prime Minister initiative to promote sports among youth and giving them the platform to showcase their capabilities and talent providing bright stars to country. She also appreciated players and their managers for actively participating in league.

In a fiercely contested competition, Islamabad emerged victorious, clinching the first position, followed by Muzaffarabad in second place and Skardu securing third place. The deserving teams were honoured with cash prizes, medals, and trophies, respectively, for their outstanding performances.

As a token of appreciation, shields were presented to Guests of Honors and officials for their unwavering support throughout the league. In a touching gesture, the HEC project managers extended their heartfelt gratitude to the Organizing Secretary Nadia Mukhtar, recognizing her invaluable contributions in ensuring the success of the event and nurturing the spirit of sportsmanship among the participating teams.
