IIUI’S GYM CLUB MEMBER SHINES AT SUSTAINABILITY EXPO OF AIOU

Hira Noor Khalid, a member of Green Youth Movement (GYM) Club, student of Environmental Sciences at Faculty of Sciences of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) grabbed the runner-up position and received a cash prize of 7000 PKR by gaining recognition at the at the Sustainability Expo of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), Islamabad amidst a tough competition.

As per details, the a poster competition on them of “Energy, Water, and Waste Challenges/Solutions” was held Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), Islamabad in which 70-80 participants from NUST, QAU and other universities of the region took part.

Further, serving as a testament to the individual’s creativity and instilling values of innovation and leadership within the students’ club. Along with this achievement, Hajra Noor also prepared souvenirs from recycled material for the visit of the representatives of the British Council, Reach out to Asia (ROTA), and Higher Education Commission (HEC) with the executive cabinet of the GYM Club IIUI.

Two back-to-back achievements of GYM Club IIUI on the same day shows the dedication of the Oversight Committee, Incharge Female Campus, Directorate of Students’ Affairs, and the Focal Person the GYM Club IIUI, Dr. Sarah Amir.

Dean Faculty of Sciences, Prof. Dr. Irfan Khan said it is not only an individual excellence but also the commitment, of the universities and IIUI as a whole, towards nurturing a culture of sustainability and innovation among the student body. Such events fostering recognition serves as an inspiration for future endeavors, dedicated to the promotion of sustainable solutions and groundbreaking ideas.
