FACULTY OF ARABIC (FEMALE CAMPUS) ORGANIZES ARABIC CALLIGRAPHY EXHIBITION AND CLOSING CEREMONY OF CALLIGRAPHY COURSE

Faculty of Arabic (Female Campus) of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) organized the closing ceremony of Arabic Calligraphy Course while, on this occasion Arabic Calligraphy Exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Tahir Mahmood, head department of Arabic Language from National University of Modern Languages (NUML). The ceremony was attended by senior faculty members and a large number of female students in the auditorium of the female campus.

 

Representing the Dean of the Arabic Faculty, Dr. Muhammad Nashi, a senior foreign faculty from Egypt serving at Faculty of Arabic in IIUI male campus, welcomed all the guests. In his address, he briefed about the importance of course and highlighted the historic background of calligraphy among participants of the closing ceremony.

 

The course, “Kufi Calligraphy” and “Ruqaa Calligraphy” were taught by Dr. Moaid Fadhil, Associate Professor of Faculty of Arabic who is a senior most foreign faculty member serving in IIUI from Iraq. Addressing the participants of the ceremony, Dr. Moaiid Fadhil gave a brief introduction regarding Arabic Calligraphy and its types. Students of Arabic Faculty and participants keenly observed the Islamic calligraphic techniques of calligraphy during his address. During his speech, Dr. Fadhil shared a brief introduction to Arabic Calligraphy, enlightening them about its various styles and techniques. He commended the winners and participants for their dedication and hard work throughout the course.

 

In-charge Faculty of Arabic Dr. Samia Nazish in her speech thanked participants for gracing the occasion with their solemn presence. On this occasion, Dr. Samia Nazish also congratulated the winners and course participants for completing the course successfully. Dr. Nazish said that the Arabic Calligraphy Exhibition, held in conjunction with the closing ceremony, showcased the remarkable artwork produced by the course participants while the exhibition featured a diverse range of calligraphic pieces, highlighting the students’ skillful craftsmanship and creativity.
